Agartala, September 27,2026: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced key electoral reforms under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) to streamline the voter enrolment process. To assist voters dealing with unmapped records or discrepancies, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will now collect documents directly from their homes. ECI has reduced the need for physical appearances by enabling online hearings and allowing adult family members to represent electors. Additionally, special drives and help desks will target homeless citizens, laborers, and omitted eligible voters—a step highly beneficial for residents in Tripura’s remote and tribal regions.
