Agartala, 24th August,2026: Heavy rainfallhas caused severe flooding and waterlogging in several parts of Agartala and West Tripura, affecting more than 1,000 people living in low-lying areas andalong the Haora River. Continuous rain has led to rising water levels,disrupting normal life and forcing several families to move to safer locations.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha visitedflood-affected areas and relief camps to assess the situation and review theongoing relief and rescue operations. He interacted with affected residents andassured them of government support. Officials have been directed to ensureadequate food, drinking water, medicines and other essential supplies forpeople staying in relief camps.

The Chief Minister also stressed the need for a permanent solution to  recurring flood problem of Tripura. Authorities areclosely monitoring the situation and taking necessary measures to protectaffected communities and restore normalcy.
