India-Japan Tech Pact Boosts AI & Chips

New Delhi, 26th August,2026: Union Minister Piyush Goyal led a high-level Indian delegation to Japan, focusing on expanding strategic partnerships in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and the startup ecosystem.The bilateral talks aimed to accelerate technology transfers, co-develop next-generation AI frameworks, and secure supply chains for critical electronic components. Minister Goyal highlighted India’s rapidly growing digital infrastructure and skilled talent pool as major incentives for Japanese venture capitalists and tech conglomerates. Both nations agreed to establish a dedicated bilateral framework to mentor emerging startups, foster cross-border funding, and drive industrial innovation, further strengthening the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership.
