New Recruitment Criteria Mandate PRC, APST Certificate and Tribal Language Knowledge

Itanagar, 27th August,2026: The Arunachal Pradesh government has introduced stricter eligibility criteria for direct recruitment to protect local interests and preserve the state’s indigenous identity. Candidates are required to possess a valid Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) and an Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe (APST) certificate. Additionally, applicants must have knowledge of at least one indigenous tribal language of the state. These requirements aim to ensure that government employment opportunities primarily benefit genuine local residents and indigenous communities. The policy also seeks to strengthen cultural identity and promote linguistic heritage. However, its implementation should remain transparent, fair, and consistent with constitutional provisions governing public employment and equality.
