Rupee Gains Against US Dollar as Crude Oil Prices Ease

Mumbai ,27th  August 2026: The Indian rupee strengthened marginally against the US dollar on Thursday, trading at around ₹95.40 per dollar in early trade. The currency gained four paise, supported mainly by easing Brent crude oil prices. Brent crude fell below $90 a barrel amid diplomatic discussions between Iran and Oman, which reduced concerns about prolonged disruptions to global oil supplies. Lower crude prices are positive for India because the country imports a large share of its oil requirements. Market participants are also watching the Reserve Bank of India’s measures to maintain currency stability.
