Agartala,25^thAugust, 2026:  Tripura has beenrecognised as the Overall Best-Performing State in the Small State categoryunder the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises(PMFME) Scheme at the PMFME Conclave 2026 in New Delhi. The award was presentedby Union Food Processing Industries Minister Chirag Paswan at the India HabitatCentre on August 24-25. The recognition highlights Tripura’s efforts to promotemicro-enterprises, strengthen livelihoods and support grassroots entrepreneurs.The PMFME scheme provides formalisation, capacity building, financialassistance and market opportunities to food-processing enterprises, Self-HelpGroups and local businesses. Officials said the award will encourage furtherefforts towards sustainable and inclusive economic growth.
