Tripura Government Ready to Form Eighth Pay Commission

Agartala,27th August,2026: The Tripura government is preparing to constitute the Eighth Pay Commission, Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy informed the Assembly. Replying to a question raised by MLA Sudip Roy Barman during the reference period, the minister said the government is currently searching for a qualified and competent person to serve as the commission’s chairman. He acknowledged that there is a shortage of suitable candidates with the required expertise in the state. The government has already considered names for the other members of the commission, but their appointments have not yet been finalised. The commission is expected to examine issues concerning pay and related matters of state employees.
